Park Plaza, Central Arkansas Library System Announce New Community Partnership
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 26, 2025) – Park Plaza, Little Rock’s premier shopping and retail destination, announces a new partnership with the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) to bring expanded educational programming to the community.
The collaboration will extend CALS’ extensive reach through a variety of programs and activities hosted at Park Plaza, creating exciting opportunities for families and children to engage with reading and learning.
“The Central Arkansas Library System brings knowledge, imagination, and connection to every corner of Little Rock and communities across central Arkansas,” Second Horizon Managing Partner and Co-Founder Howard Levine said. “We are thrilled to welcome them as community partners at Park Plaza and to support initiatives that inspire learning and literacy for all ages.”
The partnership will introduce year-round programming from CALS at Park Plaza, including pop-up used book sales, visits from the popular CALS Cruiser bookmobile, story walks, author talks, interactive story times, and activities designed for children. These events aim to make reading accessible, fun, and integrated into daily life for the Little Rock community.
“This partnership with Park Plaza will allow CALS to reach more people in new and exciting ways,” Central Arkansas Library System Executive Director Nate Coulter said. “We are committed to making literacy and educational resources more accessible, and we are excited to extend our programming into Park Plaza and join their robust calendar of community events.”
Upcoming Park Plaza events with CALS include the Park Plaza Kids Club, a weekly summer event held every Wednesday in June and July. Kids Club is a free community event hosted in conjunction with the Museum of Discovery, offering creative classes, book readings, special entertainment, academic activities and more. Park Plaza will also partner with CALS on Saturday, Aug. 2, for Park Plaza’s annual Back to School Bash, which will include hands-on activities for kids and information on participating in their free after-school community programs.
More event details and announcements will be shared throughout the year. For more information on Park Plaza and the Central Arkansas Library System, visit parkplazamall.com and cals.org.
